‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Struggling After Alzheimer’s Diagnosis

"Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson informed fans this week that he is struggling, but he will continue to fight.

Robertson explained that he now has to sometimes force himself to eat after having been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Through it all, their fans continue to express their support for the TV star.

Health is Declining

As we often see in these cases, after the diagnosis, Robertson’s health started to decline.

I have a friend whose father has Alzheimer’s, and it is a battle to just watch him become a former shell of himself right before our eyes.

It seems as though his will was just taken away from him, and that seems to be what is happening with Robertson after the diagnosis.

Phil’s son, Alan, was stunned at the outpouring of support his father received after they went public with his health challenges.

He stated, "The outpouring of love, of support, of prayer … is almost a bit overwhelming for me.”

His other son, Jase, added, "During that little transition time, Phil had a little bit of a reprieve from, you know, his pain.

“Although his overall conditions remain the same, he just felt better. We had gone down to have lunch with him, you know Missy and I, because, you know, if you bring him really good food, you can persuade him to eat.”

They went on to say that their father has been in a downward cycle ever since the diagnosis.

To the point mentioned above, he has to be reminded to eat because he simply forgets and his mental state is so damaged, he just doesn’t seem to care.

His son added, "I really feel like it was just the prayers. Because, you know, for months, he's been on a downward decline."

The show was wildly popular, so it is not a surprise to see their loyal fans hanging tough to support Phil during this health challenge.
