Doug Emhoff Lands New Gig After Harris Election Loss
It looks like Doug Emhoff has put his career on hold long enough for Kamala, and he is about to get back in the game.
We had reported earlier that reports surfaced that Emhoff had taken a position at a New York firm.
That is true, however, the firm he will be working at, Willkie, Farr and Gallagher, is headquartered in New York, but it does have offices around the country, including California, as well as several international offices.
Doug is Back
When the initial reports were made, we were not able to identify the firm that Emhoff had been hired by.
After checking out the firm, even though the HQ is in New York, I suspect Emhoff will be working out of the Los Angeles or San Francisco office.
This became a thing because there were rumors that Emhoff and Harris were not firing on all cylinders.
Reports had surfaced that Harris was partly blaming Emhoff for her loss due to the scandals that surfaced regarding his private life before he met Kamala.
The most damaging was the allegation that he had hit a woman at the Cannes Film Festival.
The reports continued that she may be deciding to cut ties with Emhoff if she wanted to do a gubernatorial run in 2026.
With the firm having an office in LA, I think it will douse the divorce rumors, at least for now.
Matthew Feldman, another top attorney at the firm, announced the hiring, stating, “Doug is trusted by business leaders around the world who have counted on him over the years as an advisor and counselor as they have navigated some of the most complex and dynamic challenges in high-stakes situations.
“His deep knowledge of global markets, policy, and the law will be an invaluable resource to our firm’s teams and our clients.”
Emhoff also issued a statement on the hiring, “I am delighted to be joining Willkie, where I am looking forward to working alongside trusted and innovative legal counselors.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join this talented and collaborative team.”
Throughout his career, Emhoff has been tied to some very controversial cases, and based on this firm’s history of clients, which includes Lehman Brothers, he will be going back to defending corrupt individuals and businesses again.
