Donald Trump follows son Barron's lead on cryptocurrency
Donald Trump was once VERY skeptical of cryptocurrency, but that isn't the case anymore.
Thanks to the urging of his son, Barron Trump, President Donald Trump is now all-in on crypto and is ready to make America the world leader on the subject.
It wasn't long ago that Donald Trump referred to Bitcoin as "a scam against the dollar."
However, in the year 2025, the president is certainly singing a different tune. It isn't just lip service, either. He really is doing all he can to make cryptocurrency a staple of the American economy.
Trump promised during his 2024 campaign, partly as a way to appeal to Silicon Valley, that he was ready to embrace Bitcoin and cryptocurrency instead of fight against it.
Since then, Donald Trump has become an important part of the crypto business, and his son, Barron Trump, is at least partially responsible for that.
While Donald Trump has had the support of hardened MAGA voters all along, in 2024, he listened to his young son's advice in order to reach an entirely new audience: younger people in America.
Trump performed better in this category than Republicans who came before him, which was a big reason he was able to DEMOLISH Kamala Harris in both the popular vote and electoral college in 2024.
Donald Trump even held the White House's first ever crypto summit on March 7, complete with an appearance from the Winklevoss twins, who are famous for suing Mark Zuckerberg over the founding of Facebook.
"High IQ individuals around this table, that's what I always say, we need high IQ," Trump said at the event.
The event was appropriately led by the White House's crypto czar, David Sacks.
During the event, Sacks specifically repeated something one of the Winklevoss twins observed.
"Actually Cameron, I think you said something earlier that I thought was really profound, you said that a year ago you thought that it would be more likely that you'd end up in jail than at the White House. Not to put you on the spot, cause you didn't do anything wrong, but that was the environment."
The audience burst into laughter as Cameron corrected that it was actually his twin, Tyler, who said that.
"Sure, that was actually Tyler who said that," Cameron said. "But, yeah, we never thought we would get attacked the way we did in our backyard after trying to do the right thing for so many years."
Regardless of which twin said what, it's proof that Donald Trump is willing surround himself with the brightest people possible, regardless of how previous liberal administrations may have treated them.
