Donald Trump details family's reaction to assassination attempt in sit-down with Mark Levin

Though liberal media outlets seem to hope Americans will forget it ever happened, it was less than two months ago that an attempt was made on former President Donald Trump's life at a Pennsylvania rally.

Now, Donald Trump has come forward with additional details of the frightening event, including how those closest to him, such as his son Barron and wife Melania, responded to the awful scenario, as Fox News reports.

Trump tells all

The former president sat down with Mark Levin for an interview that aired over the weekend, and during their sit-down, he revealed what happened that fateful day and the impact it has had on his loved ones.

Levin begins by referencing Mrs. Trump as “a self-made woman, professional woman, a first lady with incredible class and dignity” who does not get the same fawning media attention that Jill Biden does and praises the entire Trump family for its successes and strength in the face of adversity.

He then turns to the events of July 13 and the untold story of the manner in which the close-knit family learned of what occurred.

“Well, she was watching it on television, and Barron was outside having a tennis lesson," Trump told his interviewer, adding that someone then ran up to him and said, “Barron, Barron, your father's been shot.”

“He ran, Mom, what's going on?” Trump added, noting that his wife had been watching the rally live on television”

Divine intervention?

Trump went on, “I got up, let people know I was okay,” he said, “but it was a hit, it was a big hit...and, a miracle, actually.”

“Don and Eric are great shooters,” he added, with his older son later remarking in disbelief that the shooter did not succeed in his attempt to take his father out.

Suggesting that divine intervention played a role, the former president said, “It's God. I know people who have become believers in God because of it.”

Fears and risk remain

That a shooter was able to get as close as Thomas Matthew Crooks did to killing Trump has been the subject of much controversy and has rightly brought scrutiny upon the agencies charged with protecting him, that is not to say that the dangers have been fully eliminated.

On Friday, during a rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a security scare occurred when a man burst into a press area and had to be tasered by police, again bringing into stark relief the daily worries with which Melania, Barron, and the entire Trump family must contend as their beloved husband and father continues his quest for the White House.
