The indictments that Donald Trump is facing have been fundraising gold for him, and he knows it.
So, what happened after Trump was informed that he had yet another indictment headed his way?
He sent out an email blast asking his supporters to help him out, warning that he was now facing 561 years in prison, reported UNILAD.
Make It Rain
Earlier this week, I had done a report on how Trump’s fundraising efforts have boomed after every indictment announcement, so this fundraising letter was not exactly a surprise.
A report came out earlier this week that Trump is cash poor due to the amount of money his campaign has paid out for legal bills. Roughly $40 million since this all started.
Trump wasted no time getting an email blast out to try to raise more money.
He wrote, “With Crooked Joe’s corrupt DOJ having unlawfully INDICTED yours truly yet again, reports indicate that I could now face a combined 561 YEARS in prison from the Left’s witch hunts,” reported The Hill.
The fact that most of the money donated to his campaign has gone to legal bills has become an attack point by the other candidates, with Chris Christie being the most recent to push this narrative.
He stated, “And the fact is, when you look at just his campaign filings yesterday, almost most of the money that middle-class Americans have given to him, he spent on his own legal fees. I mean, this guy’s a billionaire.”
The only question that really matters on that topic is if his donors are okay with him spending roughly 47 percent of campaign funds on legal fees, with the majority of the remaining money going to staff salary.
This has become such a focal point, Trump allies have now started a separate legal fund for his supporters to donate to that will only be used for legal fees.
Even if Trump’s supporters do not mind the money being used in this manner, it will become a problem down the stretch when the campaign has no money for ads during the height of the primary and possibly the general election.
