Donald Trump to have last word at Sept. 10 debate
In her quest to have the last word at the Sept. 10 presidential debate, Kamala Harris has officially been DEFEATED.
On the strength of winning a virtual coin flip, former President Donald Trump is going to be the candidate who has the last word with Americans.
ABC News recently detailed some of the specific rules for the upcoming debate:
The debate will be moderated by World News Tonight anchor and managing editor David Muir and ABC News Live Prime anchor Linsey Davis, and it represents the first time that Harris and Trump will come face-tp-face on the campaign trail. There will be 90 minutes of debate time, with two commercial breaks sprinkled in.
There will be no audience in the room at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.
Many of Trump's fans were hoping for this next rule to be the case, as not all of them are sure that Donald Trump has the self-control to not speak out of turn:
Microphones will be live only for the candidate whose turn it is to speak and muted when the time belongs to another candidate. Only the moderators will be permitted to ask questions.
The coin toss was to determine the order of closing statements and the politicians' place on the stage.
Trump won the toss, and he elected to offer the final closing statement. Harris then selected to appear on the right side of the tv screen, stage left.
There will be no opening statements for either candidate.
When it comes time to close the debate, each candidate will have two minutes to plead their case to America.
Each question that is asked of the candidates will be allotted a two-minute answer period "with a two-minute rebuttal, and an additional minute for a follow-up, clarification, or response."
Republicans should be hoping that Donald Trump is able to take full advantage of all of these rules and come out victorious on Tuesday!
