Donald Trump Applauds Alito Decision on Recusal

After two stories surfaced about flags flying at Justice Alito’s primary and vacation residences, Democrats and liberals demanded that Alito recuse himself from all January 6 cases.

Alito finally spoke out on the matter, refusing to cave to pressure.

Trump applauded his decision with another post on Truth Social.

Good For You

First, a story surfaced about an American Flag being flown upside down at Alito’s primary residence.

Alito explained this as something his wife decided to do after getting into a nasty argument with neighbors.

Then a New York Times piece surfaced of a photo of the “An Appeal to Heaven” flag being flown at Justice Alito’s vacation home, tagging it a “symbol of January 6,” which it is not.

This is a Revolutionary War-era flag that was commissioned into service by General George Washington. It flew in naval vessels at the time, served as the nautical flag for Massachusetts, and currently flies outside the offices of several members of Congress.

After Democrats appealed to Chief Justice Roberts to force Alito to recuse himself, Alito responded, “A reasonable person who is not motivated by political or ideological considerations or a desire to affect the outcome of Supreme Court cases would conclude that this event does not meet the applicable standard for recusal.

“I am therefore duty-bound to reject your recusal request.”

Trump immediately posted on Truth Social, “Congratulations to United States Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito for showing the INTELLIGENCE, COURAGE, and ‘GUTS’ to refuse stepping aside from making a decision on anything January 6th related. All U.S. Judges, Justices, and Leaders should have such GRIT - Our Country would be far more advanced than its current status as A BADLY FAILING NATION, headed by the Worst President in American History, Crooked Joe Biden!”

The entire narrative being pushed against Alito is utterly ridiculous and I, for one, am glad he stood up to the pressure and is refusing to step down in these cases.
