Dominican Republican Politician’s Son Shot Dead in Texas

On Monday, there was a story in Texas that could have some international repercussions.

Luis Alfredo Pacheco Rojas, the 34-year-old son of Alfredo Pacheco, was shot and killed in Houston.

Pacheco is the serving president of the Chamber of Deputies in the Dominican Republic, which is the lower chamber of the legislature for the Dominican Republic.

He’s Dead

The shooting of the Rojas was caught on surveillance video.

You can see Rojas’ SUV pull into a gas station, with another car pulling up in front of the SUV to block its exit path.

Three men then emerge from the car, all armed, and open fire on the vehicle.

Rojas was hit, then transported to a nearby hospital for care, but he was later pronounced dead.

This clearly looked like an organized hit, as you can see in the video below…

The Houston Police Department stated, "We have spoken with Mr. Pacheco about his son’s death and advised him detectives continue efforts to determine possible motives for the shooting.”

After the shooting and death were reported to the elder Pacheco, he posted on X, “With great regret, I announce the unexpected death of my son LUIS ALFREDO PACHECO ROJAS, who lived outside the country.

“This fact is currently under investigation. I sincerely thank friends and colleagues for their solidarity in this difficult time.”

Rojas worked and lived in Houston in the music industry, going under the name “El Pikante.”

The shooting is currently under investigation by the Houston Police Department.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out and if police are able to find the motivation for the attack, and if that somehow goes back to Rojas’ father’s enemies.
