I cannot help but think back to when Joe Biden commented on Donald Trump having classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago.
He was truly shocked that such a thing could happen.
His tune is changing rather quickly now that classified documents were found at his University of Pennsylvania office.
What Is That?
This is already being spun by the media and White House as no big deal.
CNN, The Hill, and MSNBC have already posted stories about how this is different than what Trump did.
Forget their spin… Joe Biden has classified documents in his office for at least six years.
Joe says he has no idea how they got there, but his team did the right thing by alerting Archives, returning the documents, alerting the DOJ, and is now cooperating with the investigation.
Richard Sauber, special counsel to Biden, is in pure spin mode to differentiate this from the Trump debacle as much as possible.
He stated, “The White House is cooperating with the National Archives and the Department of Justice regarding the discovery of what appear to be Obama-Biden Administration records, including a small number of documents with classified markings.
“The documents were not the subject of any previous request or inquiry by the Archives.
“Since that discovery, the President’s personal attorneys have cooperated with the Archives and the Department of Justice in a process to ensure that any Obama-Biden Administration records are appropriately in the possession of the Archives.”
The precedent has been set, however, which is why Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) stated that the Democrats had way overplayed their hand on this account.
Rep. Raskin (D-MD) the ranking Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, was also sticking up for Biden, stating, “Attorneys for President Biden appear to have taken immediate and proper action to notify the National Archives about their discovery of a small handful of classified documents found in a locked cabinet at the Penn Biden Center so they could be returned to federal government custody.”
Let me ask this again… how did they get there? That is the only question we really need answered.
