Do we have a fugitive trying to get himself out of a tight spot?
Or do we have an Attorney General weaponizing his office to protect a sitting president?
That is the question a lot of people are asking right now regarding the indictment of Gal Luft now that it has been unsealed.
Friend or Foe?
Luft is a 57-year-old dual U.S.-Israeli citizen who says he has provided the FBI with information regarding the business dealings of the Biden family in China.
However, he also happens to be facing arms trafficking charges and an alleged energy transaction with Iran.
He had been indicted earlier, a story which we covered, but the indictment had been sealed up until recently, reported Newsweek.
The document was unsealed on Monday, revealing that Luft has been charged with acting as an unregistered agent of China and bribing a former high-ranking US official on behalf of Chinese principals.
Luft was allegedly working as an adviser to Donald Trump at the time, so you can see how this all gets very sticky, to say the least.
Luft had been taken into custody in February, but he fled after being released on bail. Luft claimed that he had been arrested to silence him on his claims against Biden, where he claimed that Biden had been bribed by a source that was tied to the Chinese military, reports Fox News.
Prosecutors have accused Luft of brokering weapons deals between a China-based company and numerous countries, including the UAE and Libya, as well as working on an oil deal between Iran and Chinese energy officials.
This is yet another troublesome issue for Trump, as Luft has direct ties to Trump when he was first running for office in 2016.
If Luft goes down, you better believe prosecutors are going to do everything they can to tie him to Trump and somehow link Trump to this.
