DOJ Deployed to Cease-Fire Protests at DNC
It appears that the Department of Justice wanted to make sure that protests did not take away from Kamala Harris’ big night on Thursday.
According to reports, DOJ assets were deployed in Chicago on Thursday to accompany protesters along their route.
Additionally, members of the media were reportedly threatened to have their credentials revoked.
Send Them In
During the protest, authorities with CRS could be seen along the route.
This would be the Department of Justice’s Community Resource Services division.
These officers were escorting the anti-Israel protesters along the designated route while keeping the media at a distance.
One journalist stated that they were warned that if they left the sidewalk, their credentials would be pulled.
The question now is why the DOJ was using its resources for these protests on Thursday night when Harris was speaking but did not use them earlier in the week when protests were clearly getting out of hand.
Since the DOJ nor the CRS officers did not respond to requests for comments, we may never know.
When some of the CRS officers were asked during the protest, they merely referred the journalists to the CRS public relations officer.
The week started off rather rough, with a perimeter wall being breached on the opening night of the DNC.
This was the night that Joe Biden said his farewell to the party, then slinked off to California to stay at another wealthy donor’s home for an extended vacation, you know, because Joe has been working so hard the last three-plus years.
There were also dozens of shootings reported during the first few days of the convention, and tempers were clearly on the rise.
So, my guess is that the DOJ just wanted to ensure that no excessive violence broke out to ruin Harris’ headlines from the convention.
