Disgraced Hollywood Producer Brett Ratner to Direct Melania Trump Documentary

Reports broke this week that a documentary on our past and future first lady, Melania Trump, will soon be available on Amazon.

The director for the documentary will be Brett Ratner.

If you recall, amid the height of the #MeToo movement in Hollywood, Ratner was run out of town.

He’s Back

Prior to #MeToo, Ratner was a very hot name in Hollywood.

He had directed the “Rush Hour” franchise, “The Family Man,” “Red Dragon,” and “X-Men: The Last Stand,” among other movies.

He also has a producer credit on some rather significant hits, such as “The Revenant,” “War Dogs,” and the TV show “Prison Break.”

Overall, his movies have generated more than $2 billion in box office sales, so this is not a small potato we are talking about.

That all came crashing down in 2017, when Ratner was accused of rape by a former talent agency employee.

Within a month of the initial allegations, six more women came forward to accuse Ratner of sexual assault and harassment.

Among them are stars Olivia Nunn and Natasha Henstridge.

One woman accused Ratner of following her into a bathroom uninvited, among other salacious allegations.

Elliot Page, prior to coming out as a transgender, accused Ratner of sexual harassment and outing Page as Gay at 18 years old. That story was corroborated by actress Anna Paquin.

Warner Bros., which was in a huge deal with Ratner’s production company, RatPac, severed ties with Ratner in April 2018, choosing not to renew its $450 million production deal.

This new project will more or less be Ratner’s re-introduction to the business, with filming having already reportedly started in December after Trump won the presidential election.

The project will be exclusive to Amazon Prime Video.

I have to admit, with all the flack Donald Trump is taking over the sexual harassment allegations made against some of his cabinet officials, this just seems like an odd choice to direct a special on his wife.
