Director of Vance Movie Takes Cheap Shot at Trump VP
We all know that Hollywood is rigged for Democrats, which is why I was so surprised that Ron Howard directed the movie version of JD Vance’s book, “Hillbilly Elegy.”
You would think that there was a connection between Howard and Vance, but it looks like Howard was just in it for the money.
Howard recently spoke up, blasting Vance for his campaign rhetoric.
Disappointed
Howard has been acting since he was knee-high to a pup, but he really made his name in the industry as a director.
He had dozens of gigs before landing the Opie Taylor role in “The Andy Griffith Show,” then hit it big again with “Happy Days.”
And while he has nearly 90 acting credits on his resume, it is those two shows that define his career for most fans.
In 1985, everything changed when Howard directed “Cocoon,” and he suddenly had the Midas touch, directing some of the biggest blockbusters Hollywood has ever seen.
Then, in 2020, his name showed up as the director of “Hillbilly Elegy,” the movie that was made from Vance’s memoir.
It would appear that Howard’s opinion of Vance has changed since then, now saying he is disappointed in him.
When asked about Vance, Howard stated, “Well, we didn’t talk a lot of politics when we were making the movie because I was interested in his upbringing and that survival tale. That’s what we mostly focused on.
“However, based on the conversations that we had during that time, I just have to say I’m very surprised and disappointed by much of the rhetoric that I’m reading and hearing. People do change, and I assume that’s the case. Well, it’s on record.”
He added, “When we spoke around the time that I knew him, he was not involved in politics or claimed to be particularly interested. So that was then. I think the important thing is to recognize what’s going on today and to vote.”
Back when Howard directed that movie, Vance was a never-Trumper.
During the 2016 election, Vance was one of the most outspoken people against Trump, but when he was running for the Senate, he needed Trump’s support, and low and behold, Vance became his biggest cheerleader and is now on the ticket as Trump’s VP.
When asked who he would be voting for, Howard made it clear, “There’s no version of me voting for Donald Trump to be president again, whoever the vice president was.”
The bad orange man strikes again.
