DeSantis Says He Would Not Accept Role As Nikki Haley's VP

Ron DeSantis has officially made a decision on whether he would ever consider the role of Nikki Haley's vice president.

Absolutely not.

After Haley recently extended an olive branch to DeSantis by claiming that she would consider him for her vice president if she were to secure the nomination, the Florida governor had a response that may have surprised many.

Absolutely not.

"I am not going to accept that under any circumstances," DeSantis said during a recent interview on Fox News.

That's because Ron has his sights set on the presidency right now, and anything short of it would be a failure in his eyes. DeSantis does not think that he's in a position where he needs to admit defeat right now.

As a result, the governor is maintaining that his only goal right now is to secure the presidential nomination.

"I'm running for president because I think we need somebody that can win and get the job done. I would much rather do my final two years as governor than be vice president. I don't think it's a position that offers much. I want to make an impact," DeSantis continued.

Despite Haley saying that she would consider DeSantis as vice president, she has admitted herself that she isn't looking to be anyone's second-in-command right now either.

"I have said from the very beginning I don’t play for second. It’s offensive for anybody to think that I would do all of this to play for second. And so I have said that. I will continue to say that. If people aren’t satisfied with that, I don’t know what else to say," Haley said during a recent interview.
