DeSantis Rips Demonstrator Who Interrupted His Speech

GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis responded to a person interrupting his Iowa speech to a standing ovation from his audience.

The woman shouted out during his talk, calling him a fascist.

“There’s bad stuff that’s getting into the schools,” DeSantis said during his presidential campaign stop in Lexington. “There’s pornography that’s getting in the schools. So the parents have had to blow the whistle in Florida.”

“We’re gonna stand up for our kids!” DeSantis fired back at the woman. “We’re gonna make sure to do it right. That’s what we’re gonna do.”

The crowd burst into cheers as DeSantis responded to the woman.

“Those people like that in Florida are the people we beat every single day on policy,” DeSantis added, according to Breitbart News.

“We do not let them win. We win all these battles. We’re not letting them indoctrinate our kids. Not on our watch," he continued.

The interruption is one of many attacks on the Florida governor since he announced his run for president.

DeSantis has quickly become the top opponent facing Trump, with the former president making several recent attacks against the governor's actions and views.

Though Trump leads in polls, many Republicans see DeSantis as the future of the party and the necessary choice to win key battleground states against Biden in 2024.

The attacks are certain to return but at least in this case DeSantis defended himself well, to the delight of his conservative audience, who in some cases are still deciding whether to support the Florida governor over Trump or another candidate in the next election.
