Derek Hough's Wife Undergoes 'Emergency Craniectomy'

Dancing with the Stars personality Derek Hough revealed terrifying news that has left his fans holding their collective breath.

Derek Hough’s wife, Hayley Erbert has been hospitalized.

Erbert was rushed into emergency surgery to treat a cranial hematoma.

Hough took to Instagram to share the news with those who love him and his wife.

“At the end of last night’s tour performance in Washington, D.C., my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital. She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy. She is in stable condition,” said Hough.

When you experience a cranial hematoma, blood begins to pool on your skull. If this is not taken care of swiftly, you can die.

According to Mayo Clinic, the symptoms of a cranial hematoma can include:

· Dizziness
· Blurred Vision
· Confusion
· Slurred Speech
· Loss of Movement
· Seizures

It is hard to imagine the fear occurred in the moments that followed the realization that something was very wrong with his wife.

Thankfully for Erbert, everyone realized she was experiencing a true medical emergency and was able to get her the help she desperately needed.

We, like Hough, are so glad his wife is now in stable condition.

The pair have been lovebirds ever since they began dating back in 2015. They met through Hough’s sister, who originally hired Egbert to go on tour with them.

It was love at first sight for both of them.

The pair just recently tied the knot on Aug. 26 of this year after nearly eight years of courting. The couple’s wedding attire was so iconic, they were even featured on the cover of Brides magazine.

We genuinely cannot fathom the feeling of your new wife of just over three months nearly dying.
Since Hough announced his wife’s emergency, support for the Dancing with the Stars star has poured in.

We wish Hough’s wife a swift recovery during this time.
