Derek Hough's Wife Has Emergency Brain Surgery

Derek Hough's wife Hayley Erbert underwent emergency brain surgery on Wednesday.

The "Dancing with the Stars" judge said the incident occurred after his wife was disoriented and required medical assistance.

"At the end of last night's tour performance in Washington D.C., my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital," Hough wrote on Instagram. "She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy."

"I want to thank the first responders and medical personnel who have cared for and continue to care for her. I ask for your prayers and positivity during this time," he added.

"Please pray and send all your love, healing, and light to Hayley and Derek 🙏," Julianne Hough wrote. "Thank you from the depths of our family's hearts!❤️"

"The post came shortly after Derek, 38, announced that his wife was being treated for a cranial hematoma — when blood collects in the skull — after experiencing symptoms while the couple is on their Symphony of Dance tour," People added.

Derek Hough and his wife were married in August before their recent tour kicked off.

There has not yet been an announcement concerning changes in upcoming tour dates following the recent surgery. Their "Symphony of Dance" tour is scheduled for numerous nationwide performances that now stand in jeopardy following the operation.

Social media lit up with messages of support following the breaking news, with many noting prayers for the couple.

The situation seems to be stable now with the couple now thankful for the prompt medical action and emergency surgery to help with the situation.
