Well, they've officially lost their minds.
Democrats want to slap a 1,000% tax on "assault weapons."
If they do, it will essentially be the end of America's Second Amendment.
You see, Democrats will start this piece of legislation by saying that they are only targeting "assault weapons," the type of rifles and other firearms that are much too dangerous and powerful for any normal American to have a realistic use.
I'll agree, most Americans don't need a nuclear warhead waiting in their backyard just in case.
But where's the line?
Many liberals in America would qualify a squirrel gun as an "assault weapon," and therein lies the problem.
As soon as we let them put this rule in place, all they would have to do to eliminate the Second Amendment entire would be to change the definition of what an "assault weapon" is.
The effort to makes guns literally ten times expensive as they are is simply a way to keep the guns out of the hands of law-abiding Americans and ensure that only the government and criminals get to have the weapons.
Name a civilized country in the entire world that has run well while criminals and politicians conduct shootouts with each other while normal people just try to not get killed in the crossfire.
That's what is going on in many countries where guns are completely outlawed.
Remember, when only the government is allowed to own firearms, they aren't protecting you. They're controlling you.
"Congress must take action to stem the flood of weapons of war into American communities, which have taken a terrible toll in Uvalde, Buffalo, Tulsa and too many other places," one Democrat supporter of the initiative said. "Again and again assault weapons designed for use on the battlefield have been used in mass shootings at schools, grocery stores, hospitals, churches, synagogues, malls, theaters, bars and so on."
