So here is the question of the day…
How much do House Democrats care about fixing the situation at the border?
The answer to that question is… ZERO PERCENT.
No Thanks
There are a lot of new members of Congress this year, so House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) decided to play some show and tell.
He scheduled a hearing on location at the border. This would enable members to see the situation firsthand to see just how much it is impacting the local community as well as talk to the border officials responsible for protecting our border.
The cherry on the sundae was that U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz would be testifying.
Sadly, not a single Democrat chose to partake in the little field trip, reports the Washington Examiner.
Green stated, "It's deeply disappointing that the minority members of the Committee have chosen to bail on this week's full committee field hearing in Texas, only after they invited and confirmed a minority witness for one of the panels.
"The only message their absence sends is that they are uninterested in coming to the table to have a conversation about the devastation that this border crisis is having on Americans and their communities across the country," reports Fox News.
The timing of this could not have better, as there was just a massive rush of migrants the other day that tried to swarm the border and come over the wall at the entry point. There were reportedly more than 1,000 migrants that bolted over the bridge at the El Paso border.
Thankfully, they were repelled… this time.
Green said he will continue to encourage Democrats to come and see the border issues for themselves, but I would not expect them to commit to making the visit anytime soon.
If they did that, they might get their eyes opened up a little, and I think they prefer the Biden Blinders that they walk around with right now.
