During a House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday, Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman of New York unintentionally brought to light a potential connection between President Biden and his son Hunter Biden's foreign business deals.
This came as Goldman questioned Gary Shapley, an IRS supervisor and whistleblower who has raised concerns about political bias influencing prosecutorial decisions during the federal investigation into Hunter Biden.
Goldman attempted to downplay President Biden's involvement in his son's activities, stating, "That doesn't sound much like Joe Biden was involved in whatever Hunter Biden was doing." However, his commentary unintentionally affirmed that Hunter had communicated with his father about his business dealings.
Goldman had a major slip
Goldman then quickly tried to steer the conversation away, insisting there was no "direct evidence" linking President Biden to his son's business ventures.
Earlier, Goldman had referred to WhatsApp messages that, according to him, indicate President Biden only sat with his son and did not discuss business dealings.
However, such an assertion contradicts his own slip earlier in the day and does little to allay concerns about the nature of these meetings.
Another revelation during the hearing was made by IRS special agent Joseph Ziegler, who confirmed that Hunter Biden accumulated over $17 million from business transactions in China, Ukraine, and Romania, beginning while his father was vice president.
These transactions included substantial payments to Biden family-affiliated companies, such as $7.3 million from Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.
Ziegler and Shapley allege that officials from the Justice Department, FBI, and IRS had politically interfered in the Hunter Biden investigation. It's clear that these revelations call for a thorough and unbiased investigation to ensure transparency and uphold the principles of justice, regardless of one's political standing.
