Democrat Senator Confirms ‘Trump was right’

Well, we have another Democrat having a come-to-Jesus moment regarding previous statements by Trump.

This time, however, I am not sure that Trump wants the Democrat on board.

I am speaking of Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) recently stating that he believes Trump’s warnings about TikTok were dead on.

The TikTok Dilemma

When Trump was in office, he wanted to ban TikTok from being used in the United States.

At the time, Democrats called it all conspiracy theory and the ramblings of a madman.

Now, Democrats are looking to ban TikTok, so Trump has changed his stance.

To that point, earlier this week, Senator Warner stated, "It was rare for me to say that Donald Trump was right.

"But Donald Trump was right years ago when he pointed out the enormous national security concerns around TikTok, both in terms of obtaining data, but also think about the percentage – I think there are about 170 million Americans who use TikTok."

As politicians are known to do, when one side comes around, the other side suddenly changes its tune.

That is what we are seeing here by Trump and some Republicans now that Democrats are taking the lead on banning TikTok.

During a Monday interview on the subject, Trump reversed his stance, stating, "Frankly, there are a lot of people on TikTok that love it.

"There are a lot of young kids on TikTok who will go crazy without it."

Trump continued, “There’s a lot of good and a lot of bad with TikTok. But the thing I don’t like is, without TikTok you can make Facebook bigger.

“And I consider Facebook to be an enemy of the people, along with the media.”

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), who was openly against Trump’s ban on TikTok, is also pushing back against the recent legislation working its way through Congress…

Believe it or not, this is the one thing that I actually don’t have an opinion on.

I have never used TikTok and never plan on using it, but I also know quite a few influencers in the food and beverage industry who use it to pay their bills, so that aspect of it concerns me.

The common ground here would be for TikTok to be owned by an American company to shut the Chinese out of access to everyone’s information.

If they can do that, this argument is moot.

To that point, Kevin O’Leary, one of the panel members on “Shark Tank,” has expressed interest in the company if TikTok does decide to sell.

He stated, "If this order goes through, it's got to be sold. I'm going to put up my hand and say I'll buy it, and I'll tell you why.

"What I'm proposing is purchasing these assets into a new American company. I'll guarantee the servers are on American soil. I'll guarantee you will close the Chinese back doors in the code. I'll guarantee it becomes safe for the users, the parents, small business and large business.

"It'll be an American company."

And there you go… problem solved.
