Democrat-run Senate Fails to Pass Biden Judicial Nominee

Joe Biden has been let down by his party in regard to a key judicial nominee that he was trying to push through.

Judge Todd Edelman was nominated in September, but GOP Senators have pushed back considerably on his nomination.

There were also some Democrats that were not all that thrilled with his nomination.

Now, after three months, the nomination has stalled and will expire at the end of the 117th Congress.

Sorry, Joe

The problem with Judge Edelman was regarding a case he presided over.

Edelman had released a man that later murdered a young boy.

Christian Wingfield was on trial for possession of an illegal firearm. Rather than putting Wingfield in jail, Edelman freed him with an ankle bracelet monitor.

Not long after his release, Wingfield murdered Davon McNeal, a 10-year-old boy that was attending a "stop the violence" BBQ.

Edelman was drilled about the release, with Senator Blackburn (R-TN) stating, "When you made the choice to release Mr. Wingfield, you knew these following facts.

"You knew that he had multiple arrests for illegally possessing a firearm. And you know that he had been identified as the person who, on another occasion, had been shooting a gun in the street at 1 p.m. in broad daylight."

This is one of the problems that I have regularly pointed to in that we do not enforce laws on the books.

This has gotten worse with woke judges who seem more interested in keeping criminals out of jail than in putting them in.

Blackburn touched on this, stating, "We want our judges keeping criminals behind bars, not setting them free into our communities. A child is dead because Judge Edelman didn't do his job, and now he wants a promotion.

"I cannot support a nominee who has shown such reckless disregard for his duty to keep Americans safe."

It remains to be seen if Joe Biden will renominate Edelman for the position or move on to nominate another candidate to fill the judiciary seat.
