Democrat Rep. Explains Why She Left Democrats Party for the GOP

Over the last few days, the big buzz in the political world was that Florida Rep. Hillary Cassel was going to leave the Democrat party and join the GOP.

Her report caught the attention of Donald Trump, who welcomed her to the party.

Now she is explaining why she left the party.

Switching Teams

Cassel joined “The Ingraham Angle” this week to explain why she left the party.

She stated, “It’s a moment that will live with me forever. You know, I joined the Democratic Party with the understanding that this was a big tent that allowed diverse ideas and beliefs.

“Shortly after October 7, we were on the floor of the House of Representatives arguing and debating a bill in support of Israel. And I was forced to debate a Democratic colleague who filed a resolution while we still have hostages there, but this was shortly after October 7.”

Cassel, who is Jewish, continued, “Rather than my colleagues rallying around this issue, which is extremely important not only to myself, my community, America and democracy as a whole and ensuring that the Jewish people have a state. I was told that I should have sat down and stayed quiet.

“That for me was a moment of absolute disconnect from my party, where this was an opportunity I felt for all of us to band together on an issue that was non-negotiable for me. But instead, I was told I should sit down.”

While I can understand her issues with the Democrat Party, I in no way support her joining the GOP.

First, she was elected to office as a Democrat, so I have never been a fan of someone winning office in one party and then changing parties after the fact.

Second, I don’t trust Democrats. Her issue with the Democrat Party is not about ideology, but over one incident, so will she really support our conservative values or will she wind up voting in favor of Democrat legislation?

My guard is up big league right now because we all know that Democrats want power back any way they can get it.

Do we really think they are not above putting plants in the Republican Party to sabotage the party or get inside information in their respective caucuses?

Trump can welcome her, and Fox News can gush over her decision to change, but I don’t trust her as far as I can throw her.

This is much the same reason why I am skeptical about Trump putting Tulsi Gabbard as the DNI and having Robert F. Kennedy Jr. running the HHS.
