Democrat Ousted in PA Senate Race, Refuses to Concede

This election cycle was a bit of a shock to us all.

Trump won the popular vote and had a landslide win in the electoral vote, but that is not the end of this story.

The real impact here is that, unlike the 2020 and 2024 elections, Trump candidates in key congressional races also won, and they won big, including unseating Senator Bob Casey in Pennsylvania

Big Day for the GOP

After John Fetterman beat Dr. Oz, who was also backed by Trump, I doubt anyone thought that Dave McCormick had a chance to unseat Senator Casey.

Casey has been a fixture of Pennsylvania politics since 1997 when he took office as the auditor.

He gradually worked his way up the ladder, finally winning his Senate seat in 2007.

Along comes Trump-endorsed McCormick, taking the seat from under him, and Casey is not happy about it.

In fact, even though the race has been called, Casey has suddenly turned into an election denier, refusing to concede until all the votes have been counted.

On refusing to concede, his campaign stated, "As the Pennsylvania Secretary of State said this afternoon, there are tens of thousands of ballots across the Commonwealth still to count, which includes provisional ballots, military and overseas ballots, and mail ballots.

"This race is within half a point and cannot be called while the votes of thousands of Pennsylvanians are still being counted. We will make sure every Pennsylvanian’s voice is heard."

Rest assured, these races are not called unless the networks are sure they are over.

In this case, Casey is down by about 31,000 votes with 91,000 votes outstanding, mostly in Republican strongholds, so there is no way Casey comes back from this.

You lost, Mr. Casey, and it’s time to admit it.
