Democrat Governor Congratulates Trump on RFK Jr. Appointment
The Department of Health and Human Services is about to get a rude wake-up call.
Trump has nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to take over, which is quite a difference from the leadership now in place, which includes transgender Rachel Levine.
While most of us were expecting outrage from Democrats, one Democrat governor, Jared Polis of Colorado, seemed happy about the appointment.
Let’s Do This
Polis and Kennedy do have a history, as Kennedy apparently helped Polis strike down vaccine mandates in the state.
After Trump announced that Kennedy would be running HHS, Polis stated, "He helped us defeat vaccine mandates in Colorado in 2019 and will help make America healthy again by shaking up HHS and FDA.
"I hope he leans into personal choice on vaccines rather than bans (which I think are terrible, just like mandates) but what I’m most optimistic about is taking on big pharma and the corporate ag oligopoly to improve our health.”
In announcing Kennedy to run the HHS, Trump wrote, "For too long, Americans have been crushed by the industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation when it comes to Public Health.
"Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!"
Remember, Trump still has to get all these appointments through the Senate, and that will not be easy for some of them.
Very few of these nominees are going to get any support from Democrats, so Trump will only have three votes to spare on any given nomination.
I believe Trump's toughest sells will be Ramaswamy, Kennedy, Noem, and Gabbard. The most difficult will be Matt Gaetz as AG, an appointment I hope does not get through confirmation.
This is the calm before the storm, my friends, because the gloves are going to come off in January.
