A Democratic congressman called for federal agencies to "keep this democracy in check," both criticizing their leadership and calling for stronger attacks against Americans.
Rep. Kweisi Mfume (D-MD) shared the remarks during the House Oversight Committee's investigation of the Biden family.

“We’re spending our time talking about Hunter Biden, someone who has already pleaded guilty to not filing his taxes, having a gun charge, and now I hear also paying for prostitution,” Mfume said.
“Now, here’s what galls me,” he fumed. “I don’t like these attacks on the Department of Justice, the FBI, the IRS, as if they are somehow anti-U.S. agencies. Those agencies keep this democracy in check. They provide the checks and they provide the balance.”
Rep Kweisi Mfume (D-MD) just said one of the most disturbing and insane things a member of Congress has ever said:
“The DOJ, FBI, and IRS keep this democracy in check [and] provide the checks and the balances."

"The Maryland Democrat’s statements mirrored those of his colleagues, including U.S. Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA), who side-stepped criticism of Hunter Biden’s generous plea deal to deliver a monologue about racism," Trending Politics News reported.
“I want to talk about what the real two-tier justice system is, where black and brown people are over-criminalized and overincarcerated,” Lee said.
The concerning focus on federal agencies cracking down on Americans rather than the investigation into the Biden family's bribery allegations is concerning in many ways.
Tens of millions of dollars are reportedly under investigation over payments made to Biden family members during his time as vice president, largely through business deals made by his own son with corporations in China and Ukraine.
The Democratic congressman instead spoke out on completely unrelated topics, failing to address one of the biggest potential scandals in the nation's history.
The uproar is expected to continue, but so will the investigation, with Republicans on the committee hoping to determine the facts of the situation.
