Dem Mayor Text Dooms Democrat Narrative

Virtually every week, we do crime recap stories of the gun violence in Democrat-run cities.

Every week, we bring up the fact that the media and Democrats widely ignore these stories because unlike most mass shootings, the wrong cast of characters is doing the shooting.

Dems love to push gun control in these mass shootings, as though more laws will help stop these crimes.

One Democrat, St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones, however, just got caught blowing that entire narrative out of the water, and now she is in damage control, reports KSDK.

Uh Oh

Jones has been pushing for gun control since day one, but she doesn’t really believe that will solve the problems.

We know this because reports have surfaced of text messages being exchanged between Jones and her father on this very subject.

In one message, the St. Louis mayor stated, “Chicago has strict gun laws as well but that doesn’t deter gun violence,” reports Breitbart.

That does not jibe with a statement made last month by Jones on gun control, when she stated, “Our state’s lax gun laws make our challenge even more difficult. … The legislature’s lack of action on gun safety laws encourages the proliferation of guns on our streets and puts our responding officers directly in harm’s way.”

The full exchange also suggested that investing in people would be a much better way to go even though she literally ridiculed the idea when that very solution was recommended by a Republican in a local editorial.

State Senator Cindy O’Laughlin recommended “improving education, workforce training, and greater economic development to reverse the currents of desperation that sweep teens toward crime,” which Jones called a “crazy editorial.”

Jones and her team are now doing damage control while at the same time trying to remove any sign of those texts from the internet… but I think it is safe to say the cat is already out of the bag.
