Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was feeling a bit ornery this week during a Senate hearing or an ambassador appointment.
Cruz was trying to get to the bottom of some "alleged" Hunter Biden corruption when he got shut down by the Dem chair.
Even though Cruz did not get the answer he wanted, it made for some great TV.
Time's Up
Cruz is great to watch during these hearings.
He loves to hammer away when he thinks he has someone over a barrel, and he clearly thought that here with nominee George Kent, who you may remember from the Trump impeachment hearings.
Cruz asked Kent, after a rather long lead-in, "Do you think Joe Biden holding a billion dollars hostage to force the Ukrainian government to fire the prosecutor that is investigating the corrupt oligarch who's paying his son a million dollars a year? Did getting that prosecutor fired benefit that oligarch?"
Chair Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) cut Cruz off, which only got Cruz going even more on the subject, declaring that she was helping to coverup for Joe Biden.
Here is the back and forth…
Kent, when he finally did answer the question, as expected, took Joe Biden's side, stating, "The prosecutor who was fired by the Ukrainian Parliament did nothing to investigate Zlochevsky and everything the Vice President Biden, the State Department and the U.S. Embassy did acted in good faith to reduce corruption and help the Ukrainians."
All of the evidence seems to point to Joe Biden having ties to Hunter Biden's business deals as well as making moves to protect Hunter while he was VP.
Because the GOP failed to capture the Senate this time around, it is unlikely that we will ever get to the bottom of it until after the 2024 election, and the only if we can take the White House, hold the House, and retake the Senate, a very tall task indeed.
