Dem Candidate Sentenced to 22 Months in Prison

Black Lives Matter is not having a good start to the new year after a disastrous 2022.

The organization was linked to numerous financial scandals.

The hits kept coming in 2023, as its lone candidate was just sentenced to jail.

I have been pretty vocal regarding my feelings about the Black Lives Matter organization.

BLM has spent very little in communities it pretends to represent, and we have all seen the scandals regarding the properties that were bought with donated money and used by staffers.

Karen Carter Peterson is yet another black mark for BLM.

She is the former Louisiana Democratic Party chair and was the only BLM-backed candidate in the election.

It turns out, she has one more designation… thief.

Peterson's resignation in April caught everyone by surprise, which she explained as mental health and an addiction to gambling.

She pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges, which included wiring $140,000 in party and campaign funds to outside sources for personal expenses and gambling.

On Wednesday, she found out that she was going to jail for 22 months.

While being hailed by BLM, Peterson had been carrying out her scheme for seven years.

The report stated that she had also "false and misleading" campaign finance reports that "mischaracterized expenditures as being for legitimate purposes related to her campaign or the holding of public office."

At the time, Peterson stated, "Today marks an important step in my life-long recovery as I continue to address my gambling addiction.

"I sincerely apologize for the impact from my compulsive behavior resulting from this addiction."

Peterson is the only candidate that BLM has backed, and they chose a real peach.

The BLM PAC sent more than $100,000 Peterson's way for independent expenditures during her failed congressional run.

Just one more reason not to trust anyone that is affiliated with that scam organization.
