The Legendary Tina Turner Dead at 83

There may not be a more beloved rock 'n' roll star on the planet than Tina Turner.

The things that woman overcame, the amazing pipes that she had, the presence, the star power… she was the package, the total package, for decades.

Sadly, after years of medical problems, she is now gone. She died at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, near Zurich.

The Queen

Turner was amazing, overcoming an abusive relationship with Ike Turner to rise to the top of the industry on her own.

Her live performances were amazing, and she put women half her age to shame for many, many years.

She was known for her slip-style dresses to show off those legs, and her rather unique way of delivering her songs…

One of the more iconic televised performances was with Beyonce, singing "Proud Mary" during the Grammy's.

Beyonce absolutely adored Turner, and paid tribute to her as soon as word traveled that Tina had passed.

She stated, "My beloved queen. I love you endlessly. I'm so grateful for your inspiration, and all the ways you have paved the way. You are strength and resilience, and you are the epitome of power and passion. We are all so fortunate to have witnessed your kindness and beautiful spirit that will forever remain. Thank you for all you have done," reports Fox News.

The tributes poured in all day from virtually every big name in the business, all citing her for her amazing talent, love, and strength.

Only when her health deteriorated did she finally slip away from the limelight to fight her battle.

While living a more secluded life, Turner was still open about the struggles she was having with her health.

On March 9, Turner had stated, "My kidneys are victims of my not realizing that my high blood pressure should have been treated with conventional medicine.

"I have put myself in great danger by refusing to face the reality that I need daily, lifelong therapy with medication. For far too long I believed that my body was an untouchable and indestructible bastion."

She had a stroke in 2013, was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016, and she had a kidney transplant in 2017. According to her representatives, that was not what killed her, as she simply died of natural causes, reports the New York Post.

Tina, you were one of, if not THE best. Rest in peace.
