NJ Lt. Gov. Dead After Medical Emergency

The Democrat Party was truly shocked to learn of the death of one of their highest-ranking officials.

New Jersey Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver passed away suddenly Tuesday.

Oliver suffered some type of medical emergency on Monday and was rushed to the hospital, where she died on Tuesday, reported CBS News.

At the time of her death, she was covering for Governor Phil Murphy, who was on vacation with his family in Italy.

Gone…

Governor Murphy immediately released a statement upon her death. He stated, “Tammy and I, and our children, are incredibly saddened and distraught to learn of the passing of our dear friend, colleague, and partner in governor, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver,” reported The Hill.

Murphy then lauded Oliver for being a trailblazer, noting the “firsts” that she had accomplished as a black woman in politics…

After Oliver fell ill, she was taken to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.

Murphy was not scheduled to return to New Jersey until August 13, and it has yet to be made clear if he will return home early due to the death of Oliver.

While he is still away, Democratic Senate President Nicholas Scutari is expected to fill the void and take over gubernatorial duties until Murphy returns.

Oliver is just one of a string of health problems that we have seen on both sides of the aisle among the elderly in our political leadership roles.

Joe Biden’s issues are infamous. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has become nothing more than a puppet vote for her party since returning to the Senate after a battle with shingles and several other health issues.

Then, of course, there was Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) staring blankly at the cameras last week. Oh, and we don’t want to forget Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), who is just a hot mess in terms of health, both physical and mental.

I believe it is safe to say that the next generation of politicians needs to step up.
