As we all know, Congress is loaded with fossils that need to retire.
Senator Diane Feinstein would be at the top of that list at 89.
Democrats need to put her out to pasture, but reports are surfacing that they are guiding her around like a puppy so that they don't lose the advantage in the Senate.
Confused and Angry
Feinstein is literally voting on legislation she cannot even comprehend.
As staffers tried to explain the stopgap funding bill that was voted on this week, she told them, "I don't even know what that is."
Reports even stated that she struggled to find her way down to the Senate floor to vote.
Feinstein has always been quick-witted and snappy in exchanges, but those days are gone and people are noticing.
Shockingly, it sounds as though she still plans on running again in 2024.
At that point, she would be 91 years old, turning 97 in the last year of her term.
This is not just a problem in the Democrat Party, either, as the Republican Party has its fair share of fossils.
For instance, Senator Grassley, who is 89, is already running for re-election.
Senator Shelby (R-AL) is 88 and Senator Inhofe (R-OK) is 87.
This is not about ageism, but rather getting people into office that have the energy and are tapped into the current party attitude.
Their time has come and gone, and all of them need to go.
