Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) just got rapped across the knuckles.
During the holdout against McCarthy, Crenshaw was grabbing every headline he could, calling out members of his own party for their resistance to McCarthy.
He probably thought he would be rewarded for his loyalty, but his party has denied him the gavel on the Homeland Security Committee, which he dearly wanted.
Sorry, Dan
Crenshaw, in my opinion, went way overboard in his critique of those party members.
He was going nuts on TV, calling them terrorists and the enemy, vowing revenge against every one of them.
It was so bad even McCarthy backers were telling him to dial it down.
Crenshaw exposed himself as a true RINO in the process, proving he is far deeper in the swamp than anyone had realized. He was literally criticizing people who had actually listened to We the People and wanted change in House leadership and processes.
Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) will now serve as the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.
Green, who is a member of the Freedom Caucus that Crenshaw despises so much, wants to focus his efforts on the border.
After getting the nod, he stated, "For the sake of our national security and homeland security, we must secure our border.
"We have no choice. We will empower our brave CBP agents to do their jobs and hold President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas accountable for the crisis that they created."
Green has been all over Mayorkas regarding the border, demanding his resignation for months now.
In May, Green penned an op-ed that, in part, stated, "The person responsible for ensuring the security of our homeland against all enemies, foreign and domestic, does not know if his policies allowed apprehended potential terrorists full access to the United States."
Green takes over from Mississippi Democrat Bennie Thompson, who had also chaired the January 6 Select Committee.
