Cornel West Wins Fight for Virginia Ballot

There is a little something interesting brewing in Virginia, a state where Kamala Harris currently leads Trump by about three points.

Polling right now is all Harris against Trump, but if I go back to when a third-party candidate was in the race with Biden, it looked like they were pulling from Biden instead of Trump.

Cornel West just won his appeal to get on the ballot in Virginia, and that could be a problem for Harris.

Uh Oh

In the last three polls taken in Virginia, Harris is up by about three or four points against Trump.

Enter Cornel West, who could pull some minority votes away from Harris, and we just might see Virginia flip over to Trump.

If that happens, Harris absolutely has to have the three key Blue Wall states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Cornel was off the ballot, but he appealed the case and won.

Virginia has previously declined West’s application, telling West that some of his paperwork was not done properly.

Then, on Friday, he was informed that the Virginia Department of Elections was going to reverse its previous decision.

The letter telling West that his campaign was a go in Virginia stated, "The Department has confirmed that the campaign did submit paperwork in April but was not made aware of a new form that would be required after July 1 regarding the electors’ citizenship and residency.”

West does not like Harris, and he has made it no secret that he wants to be in this election to pull votes away from her and block her from getting into the White House.

Even with West, however, this is going to be a tall order for Trump.

Three points does not sound like much, but Trump is fighting nearly two decades of history, as the state has gone to a Democrat in the last four presidential elections.

If Trump can somehow pull this off and maybe one other state that Democrats take for granted, the Blue Wall may not be enough for Harris.
