Cornel West Picks Controversial VP Pick

Another third-party candidate has revealed his selection for VP.

Cornel West, who is running as an independent, went to the far left with his VP.

West chose Dr. Melina Abdullah, a co-founder of the Los Angeles chapter of Black Lives Matter (BLM) and the director of the Black Lives Matter grassroots.

Going Extreme

For the most part, West has been an afterthought for this election cycle, but that may have just changed with his choice for VP.

While Abdullah will clearly not draw votes away from Trump, her BLM ties could be a big problem for Democrats.

BLM would love to have one of their own in the White House, so adding her to the ticket could give West a significant boost in the campaign.

Don’t get me wrong—he is no threat to win the White House, but the votes he draws will go a long way toward blocking Biden from winning it, which is all we are really concerned with in this election.

West, in announcing Abdullah as his VP, stated, “Her unique analysis and witness helps us confront our crumbling era of empire, white supremacy, and patriarchy.

“I look forward to working with her as we strengthen our commitment in our campaign for truth, justice and love!”

Abdullah added, “This campaign offers a real vision for the world that stands in opposition to oppressive forces and holds fast to the universal principles of truth, justice, and love.”

The DNC is growing increasingly concerned with how these third-party candidates are impacting Joe Biden in polling.

To that point, a DNC spokesperson, Matthew Corridoni, commented after West made his choice, stating, “Only two candidates have a path to 270 electoral votes, President Biden and Donald Trump.

“The stakes are high and we know this is going to be a close election – that’s why a vote for any third-party candidate is a vote for Donald Trump.”

Just as Trump benefitted from a crowded GOP field in the primary, his thoughts for the general election are the same… the more the merrier.
