Conservative media attacks some of Trump's decisions
Donald Trump spent a large portion of his 2024 presidential campaign promising to clean up the waste in America's federal government. If he wants to keep that promise, that means making some tough decisions.
Some of those decisions may even upset Republicans
According to the Daily Mail, Fox News host Jesse Watters is one of the conservatives upset at some of Trump's decisions.
According to the source, "Jesse Watters criticized Donald Trump after his friend, a 20-year veteran, is among Elon Musk's Pentagon cuts in DOGE's latest cost-saving initiative."
On Wednesday, a report indicated that America's Pentagon had provided Donald Trump's administration with a list of probationary employees who could be targeted in the next cut to America's federal workforce.
Watters took time during a recent episode of The Five to criticize the administration's plan and shared the story of a close friend who was preparing to be "DOGE'd."
"Let me tell you a story about Chris," Watters began. "Chris was a guy I met at a shooting event in New Jersey."
"A 20-year veteran of the US Military, one of these guys in these elite units [who has] killed a lot of bad guys. Put his life on the line. Now he [has] punched out after 20 years and [has since been] working for the Pentagon," Watters continued. "And he's only been there a few months, so his probationary [period], and he just found out he's probably going to get laid off. He's going to get DOGE'd."
Watters added, "He texted me and said, 'Jesse, this is not good. I'm really sad. I'm upset.' This guy is not a DEI consultant. He is not a climate consultant. This guy is a veteran. So, when you're talking about DOGE-ing people, veterans should get priority. Because if you're going to go out there and kill enemies, put your life on the line, you should not be in the same category as people that are doing DEI."
Popular conservative host Mark Levin also has some problems with some of Trump's recent decisions.
He was critical of the fact that Trump's administration seems to "not only oppose Zelensky, but seem to support Putin."
Levin's criticism seemed to be a direct response to Trump's claims that "Zelensky is a dictator and that the Ukrainian leader is stopping free elections and only has a very low approval rating."
According to Levin, both of these assertions are false.
Do you think conservatives have a right to criticize Trump, or should they support their president no matter what?
