Conservative actor Siaka Massaquoi arrested on Jan.6-related charges
In the latest chapter to a saga that began in 2021, conservative actor Siaka Massaquoi was taken into custody by the FBI on charges related to his presence at the Jan. 6 protests at the U.S. Capitol, as the Post Millennial reports.
Adding insult to injury, Massaquoi, known for his work on TV shows such as NCIS: Los Angeles and S.W.A.T., was arrested while he and his pregnant wife, Charlotte, were making their way home to California after attending a screening of the new Daily Wire film Lady Ballers in Nashville.
Massaquoi arrested
Though few details were available about the specifics of Massaquoi's arrest, information included on a GiveSendGo page intended to raise funds for the actor's legal defense offered at least some insight into the situation he now faces.
“Charlotte was told the charges had to do with January 6th, however, she was not presented with any arrest warrant,” the account stated.
The page went on to explain, “Siaka was taken to Monterey Park Jail where he stayed overnight and was told that he was being charged for four misdemeanors pertaining to his presence outside of the Capital [sic] Building in Washington, D.C. on January 6th.”
Long road to arrest
As the Los Angeles Times reported in June of 2021, Massquoi's home was raided by the FBI that month in an early-morning scenario which, as dramatic as it was, did not result in any arrests or charges.
In the aftermath of the raid, Massaquoi declared, “I did nothing wrong on the 6th...did nothing violent,” and he reiterated his support for conservative causes.
The GiveSendGo page created to support Massaquoi explained that he and his wife have long feared that an arrest could occur at any time, given the scrutiny to which Siaka has been subjected since 2021.
“This family has been through so many ups and downs, a circus would be a more appropriate term for the turmoil and unnecessary display of government overreach that they have had to endure,” the page went on.
Actress weighs in
In addition to those who launched the online fundraiser for Massquoi, the actor has received outspoken support from fellow Hollywood conservative actress Gina Carano.
Taking to X, Carano said, “This is a political persecution. Like they don't have enough pedophiles, sex traffickers, rapists and murderes to go after but what do they choose to spend their time doing? What are their priorities?? Harassing a peaceful protestor on Jan 6th.”
Carano then called Massaaquoi “an incredible human being” and opined that “what is happening to him is disturbing and WRONG,” surely echoing the sentiments of millions of her fellow citizens.
