Comer Inquiring if Hunter and James Biden Were Interviewed by Special Counsel

Last week, by far, the biggest story of the new cycle was the special counsel report on Joe Biden’s handling of classified information.

The report was a catastrophe for Joe Biden, but it also got the attention of House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY).

Comer wants to know if Special Counsel Robert Hur interviewed James and Hunter Biden as part of the process and exactly what they had to say.

Biden has already tried to present the special counsel report as him being exonerated for how he handled classified information.

That, however, was very far from the truth.

Hur did not choose to file charges against Biden because of how he presented himself during his interviews.

Hur surmised that Biden would be perceived as an elderly man who had considerable problems accessing his memory, more or less saying that he was mentally unfit for trial (yet, somehow, he is fit to sit in the Oval Office).

Comer is looking at a different angle, however, telling Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, “And as you know, Maria, and as special counsel Hur should know, we’ve been leading a major influence-peddling investigation of the president where we’ve proven that, at the very least, his son and brother had been influence peddling with those two countries.

“We want to know exactly what those documents were, and we want to know if Hur actually interviewed Jim Biden and Hunter Biden because, look, this family, as you know very well, has been involved in influence peddling for decades.”

This is relevant because Comer needs to know if Biden was sharing classified information with them for the purpose of peddling Biden’s influence.

Still, however, most legal experts believe even if that were true, it would be difficult to impeach Biden as the president for something he did as the vice president.

I have always taken the approach that this should be a criminal investigation launched by the Department of Justice, not an impeachment.

I think Republicans would have a far better chance of holding Biden accountable by taking that approach rather than getting everyone riled up over an impeachment that will never be successful.
