Colorado Election Worker Sentenced to 9 Years
The fallout from the 2020 election continues to take those down who believed Trump won the election in 2020.
The latest is Tina Peters, a Republican county clerk in Colorado who tried to help Trump overturn the election results.
Peters has been sentenced to nine years for her actions.
Bad Girl
According to the report, Peters used someone else’s security badge to access the county election system.
The individual who broke into the system is reportedly affiliated with My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell.
In her defense, Ms. Peters stated, “I’ve never done anything with malice to break the law. I’ve only wanted to serve the people of Mesa County.”
District Court Judge Matthew Barrett disagreed, stating, “You are no hero. You’re a charlatan who used and is still using your prior position in office to peddle a snake oil that’s been proven to be junk time and time again.
“Your lies are well documented, and these convictions are serious. I’m convinced you’d do it all over again if you could.”
Mesa County District Attorney Daniel Rubenstein also dumped all over her, stating, “Ms. Peters has demonstrated repeatedly that she does not think she did anything wrong.
“She submitted a statement to the court in the pre-sentence investigation report, giving excuses, giving justifications, but never once acknowledging that she did something wrong, that this was not the way to handle this.
“What does every 12-step program start with? It starts with acknowledging you have a problem, and she has not done that, and there’s no purpose in rehabilitation for somebody who does not think they did anything wrong.”
Judges have been looking to make an example of everyone associated with the 2020 election who was trying to help Trump, so this story is far from over.
There are still hundreds of people awaiting trials, and I would suspect that every one of them will have the book thrown at them.
