Cohen Accused of Perjury by Former Attorney

Someone very familiar with Michael Cohen and the work he did for Donald Trump just fired a bombshell at Cohen.

Bob Costello, a longtime criminal defense attorney, was on the Hill this week. He stated that he believes Cohen committed perjury on the stand during the hush-money case.

Costello pulled no punches, and I would imagine Trump’s defense team may want to get him on the stand when the case is turned over to them.

He Lied

Costello particularly pointed out the part of his testimony on Tuesday where Cohen stated that it was Costello who pressured him to stay quiet about Trump in 2018.

Costello testified before Congress, “I read Michael Cohen’s testimony from yesterday’s trial in New York on the way down on the train, and virtually every statement he made about me is another lie.”

Costello went on to document a conversation that he had with Cohen in Manhattan at a local hotel saying that Cohen told him, “I will do whatever the F I have to do. I will never spend one day in jail.”

He added that he told Cohen to bring any information he had on Trump to the U.S. Attorney, but Cohen told him, “I swear to God, Bob, I don’t have anything on Donald Trump. … I don’t have anything on Donald Trump.”

This is a really easy fix…

Have Costello testify in court on this issue, which means one of them would have lied under oath, which is perjury.

Considering Cohen’s tendency to lie under oath, I tend to believe Costello here, but let’s see what the jury says.

More importantly, let’s see how Cohen responds to the words of Costello because if he flies off the handle, that is his tell that he is lying through his teeth.

Cohen is Bragg’s star witness and if they can discredit that testimony, the case is over, period.

If Trump’s team does not call on Costello to refute that testimony, they are making a huge mistake.
