'The View' Co-Host Slams Sen. Tim Scott Over Race in Odd Rant

"The View" co-host Joy Behar claimed that Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), who recently announced his run for president, does not understand how to be black.

The comments were made during "The View" on ABC this week.

"He's one of these guys, who, you know, he's like [Supreme Court Justice] Clarence Thomas, black Republican, believes in pulling yourself by your bootstraps rather than, to me, understanding the systemic racism that African-Americans face in this country, and other minorities," Behar said.

"He doesn't get it; neither does Clarence, and that's why they're Republicans!" she added.

"Scott officially declared his candidacy for 2024 on Monday, prompting moderator Whoopi Goldberg to call him out for using a 'dogwhistle' of victimhood, and say he has "Clarence Thomas Syndrome," the Wrap reported.

Fellow host Sunny Hostin argued, "He seems to think 'Because I made it, everyone can make it,' ignoring again the fact that he is the exception, and not the rule."

Behar has long shown her disdain for conservatives, regularly knocking former President Donald Trump and other Republicans during the program.

The controversial co-host has also made ongoing comments about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas who until recently was the only black justice on the nation's highest court.

Beha has regularly made claims demeaning black conservatives while speaking against systemic racism in an odd contrast, but saying the man does not understand what it is like to be black is way over the line.

The latest comments sound more like she is speaking against the black community rather than supporting it as she argues for her progressive views on "The View."
