Former CIA Director Leon Panetta Has No Regrets for Laptop Comments

Leon Panetta, who served as the Director of the CIA and Secretary of Defense under President Barack Obama, says he has no regrets.

Panetta was one of the more than 50 signatures that appeared on a letter declaring the Hunter Biden laptop was more than likely a “Russian disinformation” campaign against Joe Biden.

He has no regrets because his letter served its purpose, which was to defeat Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

No Regrets

I respect Bret Baier immensely as a journalist, and I surely wish he had more time to dig into this with Panetta.

Baier brought the subject of the laptop up toward the end of the segment, asking Panetta, who was also Bill Clinton’s Chief of Staff, if he had any regrets about the letter he signed.

Panetta gives a long-winded response to eat up the segment, but the gist of his answer was that he had no regrets and that all he was really doing was alerting the American people not to trust the Russians.

Panetta went on to claim that he still had not really seen any information about the laptop that would make him think that his assessment was wrong, at which point you can hear the utter shock in Baier’s voice.

Baier even said that Hunter Biden had already admitted that the laptop was his, at which point Panetta finally broke out in a laugh, but continued to double down on his answer.

What I want you to do is watch Panetta’s face as he gets toward the end of his answer, as he really seems to have a hard time keeping a straight face…

Think about the power and influence that man wielded in our government as well as the influence he continues to have today, yet he sits there and lies right to our faces about something that has been authenticated multiple times.

The real reason he has no regrets… because he managed to help put someone just as corrupt as himself into the White House.
