Chynna Phillips Prepares for Major Surgery

Singer-actress Chynna Phillips recently broke some bad news to her fans.

Phillips is about to have major surgery on her leg to remove a large tumor.

According to Phillips, she has had the tumor virtually her entire life.

Surgery Announced

Phillips, who is married to William Baldwin and the daughter of the Mamas & the Papas band members John and Michelle Phillips, has been in the entertainment industry since 1975.

Pretty much what we would expect with that family lineage.

She is a member of Wilson Phillips but also has a decent acting resume.

Her first real role was Mia in “Some Kind of Wonderful.” She also starred in “Caddyshack II,” “The Comeback,” and “Bridesmaids,” among others.

Phillips broke her latest news on her social media channel, posting a video called “My Worst Fears Came True.”

She explained the issues with her tumor, stating, "I've had it since I was a little girl. They don't know if I was born with it or not.

"It's totally benign, but it is large, and I'm talking very, very large. It's like 14 inches long and 4 inches wide."

She added, "I'm absolutely petrified of anesthesia, and I don't know, I just feel like it's the closest thing to death going under; I mean, it actually is.

“It's the closest thing to being dead, which is probably not the best way for me to be processing anesthesia, but I can't help it. I've had it so many times."

She had also discussed her marriage, which appears to be a bit rocky right now, not surprising seeing all the problems Baldwin’s brother, Alec, is having right now.

Even so, she appears to want to work on that, calling William “my life partner.”

Phillips and Baldwin were married in 1995 and have three children together.
