Chinese Troop Operations Confirmed Near Alaskan Coastline

China's army confirmed Tuesday that it has been conducting joint operations with Russia near the Alaskan coast.

The People's Liberation Army said it was hypocritical for the U.S. to complain as America's military has conducted operations in the South China Sea.

“In the future, the Chinese Navy could conduct more far sea patrols like this, either alone or together with other countries. The Americans should get used to it,” Chinese military expert Fu Qianshao said.

“The US should not forget that it frequently sends warships and warplanes to other countries’ doorsteps for so-called freedom of navigation operations, including to the South China Sea and the Taiwan Straits,” Fu said.

Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) blasted the joint military operations near his state after it was discovered earlier this month.

"This is unprecedented in terms of the size and scope of this joint naval task force between Russia and China, working very closely together," Sullivan told Fox News Digital in a phone interview late Saturday. "Whether you live in Alaska like I do, or on the East Coast of the United States, a very large surface action task force between our two main adversaries, probing very closely to United States shores is concerning."

"It just solidifies this idea that we've entered a new era of authoritarian aggression led by the dictators in Beijing and Moscow who are increasingly aggressive," he continued.

The operation was not the first by China near American waters. A smaller joint exercise was detected in September of last year.

The security concerns are under investigation by the Pentagon, though little is being released to the public concerning the growing threats by both China and Russia.

The concerns add to problems arising from Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the U.S. supporting Ukraine alongside European nations to help defend against Russian aggression.
