Well, I have to say, this is a long time coming.
The Police Chief of Austin, Texas, has just called it quits, reported the Austin American-Statesman.
It would appear the uber-woke agenda that has saturated Texas' capital city has finally taken its toll.
Time to Go
One would think the capital of Texas would be a conservative safe haven, but it is the complete opposite.
Millennials have taken over the town, and they have brought their woke agenda.
Homelessness has taken over the city, as has crime, but local officials keep pushing the defunding of police and Democrat policies.
With all the cuts and police morale at an all-time low, Austin Police Department Chief Joseph Chacon has decided to pack it in.
Upon announcing his resignation, he stated, "This is one of the hardest messages that I've ever had to write. A few months ago, I began seriously considering retirement and after long conversations with my wife and family, and thoughtful prayer, I have now made the decision that the moment is right to hang it up on a 25-year career with APD," reported Fox News.
I'm announcing my retirement as the Chief of the @Austin_Police with a heavy heart. I've come to this decision after a lot of thought. It has been an honor to serve this department and this wonderful community, and I know I'm leaving you in good hands. pic.twitter.com/evwBGGEwQr

Chief of Staff Robin Henderson is expected to take over as the Interim Chief until a permanent replacement can be named.
Chacon is going to stay on for a brief period in an advisory role to ensure a smooth transition.
The city has been experiencing horrible delays in 911 calls with a massive staffing shortage right now.
Crime is and has been on the rise since the new woke policies were put in place.
Even so, City Council removed about $150 million from the annual budget, with is about a third of what the previous budget had been in 2020.
Thomas Villarreal, president of the Austin Police Association stated, "We just continue to have a city council that doesn't show its police officers that [it] cares about them."
It's all fun and games until we start to see bodies dropping in the streets, and it is getting very near that in Austin.
Jennifer Hackney-Szimanski of Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT) hit the nail on the head, stating, "Austin will never be able to retain an experienced, well-rounded chief for any amount of time with a Council who refuses to ratify a contract and a DA who removes less lethal options and continues to harass LEOs."
Until there is an overall mindset change, Austing will get middling talent, and the city will continue to slip into oblivion until Democrats have done to it what they do with every other big city… destroy it.
