The big news last week from the January 6 Select Committee was the subpoena of Donald Trump.
Trump slammed the committee publicly.
Privately, however, sources have stated that Trump is very seriously considering testifying.
The Plan
Cheney seems to believe that Trump will show up.
She stated, "We are anticipating that the former president will understand his legal obligation and will comply with the subpoena."
She continued, "We've made clear in the subpoena a number of things, including that if he intends to take the Fifth, that he ought to alert us of that ahead of time."
There is also the thought process that Trump will go off on tangents regardless of what he is asked.
Cheney says that will not happen.
She stated, "We are not going to allow the former president -- he's not going to turn this into a circus."
Well, it's already a circus, but I digress.
"This isn't going to be, you know, his first debate against Joe Biden and the circus and the food fight that became.
"This is a far too serious set of issues, and we've made clear exactly what his obligations are, and we are proceeding with that set out."
I would be shocked if Trump shows up, but if he does, you better believe it will be a circus.
