The man who attacked Paul Pelosi has been charged.
David Depape, 42, is now facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, battery, burglary, and several other felonies.
Charges are being filed by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.
Vile Attack
As details of the attack emerge, we realize it was far worse than initially reported.
According to police, Pelosi and DePape struggled over a hammer when police arrived on scene.
DePape had just managed to pull the hammer away from Pelosi as the police came on scene, then proceeded to hit Pelosi with the hammer.
As he was striking Pelosi, he was asking, "Where is Nancy?"
Police reportedly tackled DePape and immediately started to render aid to Paul Pelosi.
Due to an alert from a 9-1-1 operator having elevated the call to a wellness check, initiating a quicker response by police, Pelosi is still alive.
DePape has already been labeled as a right-wing extremist, so Democrats are pouncing.
This is going to energize a lot of campaigns, just as we feared when we first reported the attack yesterday,
The entire right will now face the same label as DePape, even though most of us had immediately decried the attack.
Joe Biden has already started attaching the attack to conservatives and MAGA Republicans.
He spoke after the attack, stating, "This is despicable.
"There's no place in America.
"There's too much violence, political violence, too much hatred, too much vitriol.
"And what makes us think that one party can talk about stolen elections? COVID being a hoax? It's all a bunch of lies."
So, as usual, the entire left gets a pass for the violent rhetoric they have been using.
Yet, the entire right gets a label slapped on it due to the actions of one insane nutjob.
