The man that I often refer to as poison for the GOP has been arrested and charged by the DOJ.
Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) was hit with federal charges by the Eastern District of New York (EDNY).
Santos is already under investigation by the House Ethics Committee, reports Fox News.
Background of Lies
I have never hid my personal feelings about Santos, and I believe this proves me to be on the right side of this case.
Santos blatantly lied about his background to get elected. When those lies were exposed, he did not back down from and continued to serve even though his constituents were calling for his resignation.
For some reason, House Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) stood up for Santos, saying everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty. I would generally support this premise, but this was a case where Santos had openly admitted to the lies.
He is mocking the system, a complete clown show, yet he continued to draw support in the House from people like Reps. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
I don't like frauds, and this man is a fraud and a grifter.
Even now, McCarthy says that he will allow Santos to serve until this case plays out. Meanwhile, he gives Democrats ammo to use against the party and movement in upcoming elections.
Santos has already pleaded not guilty to the charges. After his arraignment hearing, he told reporters, "I'm gonna have to go and fight to defend myself. The reality is, it's a witch hunt because it makes no sense that in four months, five months, I'm indicted," reports NBC News.
He continued, "I'm gonna fight my battle, I'm going to deliver."
He is trying to take a page from Trump's playbook, but it will not work for this clown.
My only hope is that this case is pushed through as quickly as possible and this grifter is removed from his seat, a seat he does not deserve, nor should be sitting in today.
He is poison. He is a black eye for conservatives. And he must go.
