CBS News says moderators will not fact-check during VP debate
The Harris campaign is likely preparing for a DISASTER after the latest news surrounding vice presidential candidate Tim Walz’ upcoming debate against Sen. JD Vance.
Unlike ABC News which decided to “fact check” the Republican presidential candidates during a recent debate, CBS News has confirmed that its moderators will NOT fact check the vice-presidential candidates during their on-stage clash.
This decision has left countless political watchers applauding.
Thankfully, in this debate, Republicans will not have the disadvantage of contending against both the Democrat AND the moderators. In the debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, the moderators (sometimes incorrectly) interjected only when the former president was speaking.
After that battle took place, outrage poured in over the moderators’ conduct.
The way that ABC News handled the debate between the two candidates seemed to divide the nation.
One of the most questionable decisions ABC News made was the one to fact-check the candidates -- or at least one of them -- DURING the debate.
The real issue with this decision is that the moderators ONLY fact-checked Trump.
Now, CBS News has made a key decision regarding the debate between Vance and Walz.
CBS News will NOT attempt to correct the nominees' answers, nor will they turn off their microphones when it is not their turn to speak.
However, CBS News will reserve the right to turn the mic off if it is deemed necessary.
We commend CBS News for taking this stance.
The vice-presidential candidate showdown between Vance from the Trump campaign and Walz from the Harris campaign is poised to take place on Tuesday evening.
Walz may well be in for a rude awakening when he takes the stage to face his GOP rival.
Former U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan debated against Vance twice when they battled for a Senate seat a few years ago.
According to Ryan, Vance is “very smart.”
“I don't think there's any doubt about that,” Ryan said.
If Ryan thought Vance was smart BEFORE he was part of Trump's team, imagine how powerful the senator may now be when he takes the stage.
Do you think Vance will prove a worthy adversary for Walz during the upcoming vice-presidential debate?
