One of the more shocking deaths of the year, that of Lisa Marie Presley, has finally had a cause of death announced.
Presley died in January after several people had noticed how her health had apparently deteriorated.
Her cause of death falls in line with health complaints that Presley had made just prior to her death, reported Yahoo!
Now We Know
Like her father, Lisa Marie died far too young for this man’s liking.
At 54, her death hit fans like a ton of bricks.
According to the report, Presley had complained about severe abdominal pain on January 12. She was found later that day unresponsive by her ex-husband, who had not been named in the initial reports.
The cause of death was released as a “small bowel obstruction,” hence the abdominal pain that she had been going through.
Her health problems were linked to bariatric surgery that she had had prior, with her doctor stating that there were “known long-term complications of this type of surgery.”
Part of the issue was also Presley’s penchant to overmedicate, with the report stating that she had a “history of overmedicating; she was known to forget she had taken her medications and would take them again,” reported the New York Times.
Presley had last been seen only days before at the Golden Globe Awards. She was in attendance because the movie “Elvis” had been nominated for multiple awards. The movie took the country by storm, reliving the life of her father, in both good times and bad.
While not my favorite Elvis bio flick, it did take a much deeper dive into how badly the Colonel had manipulated Elvis and if any one person could ever be blamed for the death of Elvis, it was the Colonel.
When she appeared on camera, people immediately noticed that she looked unsteady and unhealthy.
Two days later, she was dead.
